Citation XLS + is the best solution for short and medium-range flights for reasonable price for groups up to 7 passengers. For flights longer then 3,5-hour fuel-stop might be requited and that is not always convenient. Cabin dimensions are quite common for a mid-size jet but XLS+ feels spacious inside. It is possible to stand practically without banging a head due to deepening in the middle part of cabin. Two Pratt & Whitney engines are installed on Cessna XLS+ that provide high takeoff thrust and make possible to use airports with short runways and land most close to your destination. For take-off Cessna Citation XLS+ requires runway of just 1,085 meters. Around 400 Cessna 560XL are currently in operation world-wide.

First model in the range was Cessna Excel. Test flights started in 1996. Cessna Excel fuselage is same height and width as of Citation X, but shorter. As basis of tail part was taken one of Cessna Encore.
