Private jet Cessna Citation M2 is an entry-level in Citation Jet model range. This jet was designed for short-range flights with small group of passengers on-board.

Cessna M2 project was first presented in 2011. In March 2012 flight tests program started. Cessna M2 is based on two models - Cessna CJ1 and Cessna CJ2, both of which are out of production now. Cessna M2 passed certification process in 2013 and received type certificates from FAA and EASA.

Maximum number of passengers that can be taken on board is five, but flight would be most comfortable for four passengers, each taking an executive seat. Four seats form club zone with two concealable side-tables. Fifth passenger seat is right opposite the entrance. New passenger seats were developed for this private jet, ergonomic and with a lot of adjustments. Leather, wood and fabric of different colors is available for cabin finishing. Small gallery is in the front part and makes possible to serve cold dishes and drinks on-board. Flight attendant service is not possible due to limited cabin size.

One of the most advanced avionics system is installed, including synthetic vision system Garmin SVT. Citation M2 passed in 2017 certification for landing at airports with glissade more than 5 degrees. Such glissade is, for example, in London City airport and Lugano airport, that are surrounded by artificial or natural terrain.
