Renova Group, the new owner of Samara airport, as it turned out, does not control the entire airport business. Local business structures associated with Alexei Ushamirsky own a non-aviation business and a VIP terminal.
The lost revenue from these assets by the Renova group can be up to 20%.
Renova did not control the onboard catering shop, the hotel at the airport, parking near the terminals and the VIP terminal. According to the general director of Koltsovo airport Yevgeny Chudnovsky, Renova was informed about the structure of the airport's assets and has no claims.
A small historical excursion: until 2011, the federal authorities, represented by the Federal Property Management Agency, controlled 51% of the airport's assets. Structures close to Alexey Ushamirsky owned about 40% of the assets until 2010. Then, as a result of a series of transactions, OJSC "Corporation for the Development of the Samara Region" gained control over this stake. By the summer of 2011, the corporation's share in the Samara airport was increased to 96.16%, gaining control over the state-owned stake. Then the Renova Group won a tender to attract an investor and promised to invest about 12 billion rubles for the construction of a new terminal.
