Koltsovo International Airport in Ekaterinburg (part of the Airports of the Regions holding) has completed the construction of a hangar for private jets. This is the first of its kind at the airport. The hangar can accommodate up to four business jets and will allow the airport to provide business aviation services of a qualitatively new level. The project cost amounted to over 280 million rubles.
The new hangar is located in the northeastern part of the Koltsovo airport. The building has an area of 2,902 square meters. The hangar gives the airport the possibility of simultaneous combined accommodation of up to four private jets or one aircraft such as Airbus A-321/320/319 or Boeing-737-800/900. The building is equipped with modern operational systems. In winter, the temperature is maintained at a level not lower than +15C. The main lighting system with a maximum luminous flux of up to 500 lux allows aircraft maintenance in a comfortable environment. The building is also equipped with an automatic fire extinguishing system designed in accordance with the fire safety requirements of aircraft hangar storage. The hangar contains the necessary technological equipment for ground handling of aircraft, an installation of ground power supply, a lead-free electric tractor "LEKTRO AP-8850", which allows for a highly maneuverable arrangement of aircraft with a mass of up to 45 tons.
In the future, the airport plans to expand its hangar capacity. Three more similar buildings are planned to be built next to the already operating hangar.
