The Federal Air Transport Agency issued type certificate (No. FATA-CT-EMB-550) for the Embraer EMB 550 (Legacy 500) aircraft and its modifications. The process of carrying out certification work by the Aircraft Developer, Rosaviatsia, Aviation Register of Russia and certification centers of the ASC FSUE GosNII GA and SCBO of the branch of the Research Institute of Air Navigation FSUE GosNII GA was accompanied by the support of the Brazilian aviation authorities and the Representative Office of Embraer S.A. in Russia.
The basis for the issuance of the specified Type Certificate by the Federal Air Transport Agency was the positive results of the entire range of certification work, which included a flight assessment performed in accordance with the approved program, an analysis of the applicant's evidential and operational documentation, including the results of qualification tests of units and equipment, system components, bench ground and flight tests presented by Embraer SA to the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Aviation Register of Russia.
The Embraer Legacy 500 is a mid-size private jet produced by the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer and designed to carry up to 12 passengers, the first aircraft in the mid-size category to be equipped with fly-by-wire control. This business jet is powered by two Honeywell AS-907-3-1E turbofan engines and a Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, which includes four 15-inch high-resolution LCD displays and an enhanced E2VS imaging system.
